Giving at St. James

But since you excel in everything — in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you — see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

2 Corinthians 8:7

Why Give?

Everything we have is a gift from God. Giving is our response, an act of trust, gratitude, and participation in His work.

Because God first gave to us, we have a duty to care for our community in Christ at St. James. We have a call to share the hope and peace of Christ with our neighbors and this city.

In giving, He shapes our hearts, teaches us to trust Him more deeply because we are taken care of. He invites us to be part of what He is doing in our church, our school, and our community.

St. James is a growing community, made alive in Christ, continuing the tradition of serving Chicago with His hope, peace, and love!

Community - People will find a nourishing and supportive community where they can grow in faith

Mind - People will find a safe and nourishing environment to grow in the knowledge of the Lord and His Word’s application to their lives

Hands - The people of our communities will experience that God and His Church cares for them

Hearts - The people of Chicago will find life in Christ’s gifts of forgiveness and eternal life
